Henry Howard, overseer of the card room, succeeds Edwin Frye. He took charge of both rooms. Saturday morning on being called to the mill, Mr. Frys, was much surprised to find gathered in the spinning room all his old employees with the overseer, Henry Howard, who presented him with a handsome gold watch, with the following inscription engraved inside the case:
"Presented to Edwin F. Frye by staff, and employees of No. 2 Spinning of Columbian Mills Jan, 29, 1927. "Greenville, N. H."

Fair forenoon with sharp shower and some thunder in afternoon. David cut some grass in orchard and incubator field and at Library in afternoon. An auto arrived about 10 o’clock in forenoon with three men who took measurement of the road from Horse sheds round by lamp post, etc. in connection with the Ingerson V. Town. One of them asked me several questions about that night (Sept. 14th). I weeded some Beets in afternoon. George Kayser called to engage Hall for Dance tomorrow night. Got birthday card from Hamish. Mrs. Knowlton cleaning Church dining room for Mr. Wheeler’s Golden Wedding on Tuesday the 20th.
