Photo taken in front of the Town Hall on Main Street
This is a listing of the folks in the photo. I’ll leave the exercise of transcribing the names to anyone that wants to do it. Reading cursive name is not in my skill set. A full resolution image of the names may be viewed on our Photo Page.

James Roger diary entry
30th (Wednesday)
Frost 14 degrees, Wind N.E. to E & S.E. Snow flurry at noon. David packing ice at Wilbur’s. I fixed Hall for Concert tonight. Got letters from Alice, also Hamish who expects to be home on Friday.
This Week
Carl Toko mentioned that Vanguard Manufacturing was started in the garage located on Page Hill Road next to the intersection with Collins Road.
Smithville Reservoir (Damsite 35)
The heavy rains were followed by freezing temperatures which have left an interesting ice field at the ball field at Damsite 35 on Binney Hill Road. Ice sheets indicate the level of the water at flood stage. Worth a view.
Also in the three bay garage on Page Hill Road, TraSe, or Traffie-Seppala was Al Traffie and Dan Seppala's construction venture, a few years prior to the start of Hutter Construction in 1973. If you look at the brick-work on the window ledges it matches the masonry of both S&S and Hutter on Turnpike Road, not sure if my grandpa built it or not though.
Many of the names listed have appeared many times in past postings: Prestons, Taylors, Willards, Whitneys, Rogers (4 of them in this photo). etc. Hamish must have been young in this photo since he was marching in the 1950 parade.
