David Roger Obituary - July 15, 1949
Thank you Linda Bourgault for posting this in the NIHS Facebook group.
Below I meant 'head selectman' not head selected.
I think F W Jones was also an MD who served the town as health officer. David Roger was really devoted to New Ipswich as his obit shows. He worked on the roads with his 'team' and serve the town in many capacities.
Here's a New Ipswich trivia question. Who served the town as janitor, road worker, tax collector, j of p, overseer of the poor, trustee, sexton, fire warden, selectmen (including being head selected, representative to the general court, issuer of dog, hunting, and fishing licenses, insurance agent, and volunteered in helping to renovate some town buildings, ran a sawmill and sold ice? I knew him personally and had the greatest respect for him. He served the town for 50 yrs.
