A better view of the three warehouses in Bank Village which were located across the street from the house with the retaining wall that belonged to the William Kaula and Lee Lufkin. The warehouses were used by the Waterloom mill.
Rear view of warehouses.

William Jurian Kaula diary
2 APR 1898
Though my improvement has been rapid since I have been working with Mr. Dearth, I have only produced one study that has pleased him very much. Each other attempt had parts that he would pick out as being more like what he is trying to impress upon me but today I managed to get an effect of sky and a good composition which was on the whole more agreeable as it held together. I must pay more attention to schemes of color, of harmony, and of the great differences in color of the different times of the day.
U.S. and Spain. It looks as if Spain must face the grim consequences as they have not yet contrived to offer conditions which will relieve the U.S. of the duty of intervention. The President deserves much credit for his prudence in keeping Congress in check until every possibility of a peaceful solution is exhausted by diplomatic means. The situation is very critical an America is aflame with a desire to go to war if Spain does not make concessions that will meet the wishes of our people.

James Roger diary entry
2nd April 1909 (Friday)
Frosty fine day wind S.W. to S,E, clouding at night. David painting windows, wagons etc and went to Mrs. Walker for eggs for hatching got 240. I went to Warren Pratt’s funeral service which was with Mason’s rites. He was the oldest Man and Freemason in town in his 89th year. I believe Otis Wheeler is older than he was. Mr. Peacock gave a very nice address at the funeral service. The body was taken to Fitzwilliam the Masons present at the funeral were Mr.’s Blanchard, Beard, Moore, Maynard, Phelps, Spofford, Gordon and myself. The roads got pretty muddy but the sky was blue overhead and the robins whistling in the trees. Got letter from May last night.
Wonderful accounts. Thank you for posting these.
That explains the three 'barns'. They were too close to the road to be regular farm barns. The building partially shown on the left looks like a mill or maybe an office building. I think the mill was down on the river. Was Tabraham associated with the mill since he owned what later became the Kaula house(s)?
