Charlotte Lavina (Willard) Thompson died recently at her home in Fitzwilliam from paralysis. She was the daughter of Andrew Hosmer and Hannah (Farwell) Willard, and was born Feb. 2, 1851. She was married to Samuel Thompson of Mason, Ν. Η. Ten children were born to them. Her parents formerly resided in New Ipswich and she attended the schools there and Appleton academy. A cousin, Leon Willard, now resides on the old Willard farm.

Carlson House - The second house on Taylor Road in Smithville. I believe this was originally the home of Charles Taylor who owned a mill across the street.
James Roger diary entry
23rd March 1913 - Easter
Frost, fine day, Easter Sunday, wind west to southwest. Mr. Lord preached from text: “He is not here but risen.” S.S. after. 24 present. Collection 38 cts. There was a good turnout at Church. Mrs. Lena Preston and Miss Kate were there and hired a pew, one in front of Mrs. Bucknam. The Philips family were present along with Mr. Arnold.
What is the architectural style of the house that is pictured?
I used to hike up to the Willard farm through the woods from my home. I think Charlotte's paralysis was caused by a stroke. I like the Carlson house. I'd call it classic New England.
