James Roger diary entry
28th (Thursday)
Frost 10 degrees very cold north west wind all day. David teaming from mountain to Depot. I lit Hall fire. Went to mail in afternoon got pc from May.
A question for readers
What do you think that David was “teaming” from mountain. I suspect timber, since there was a logging operation on Kidder Mountain.
That's what I pictured. However, it's winter and slippery, and cold. David is alone. Kidder mountain is more than a hill. Logs on a sled passing through Greenville to be exported when there were saw mills closer to Kidder mountain? I spoke to Chauncy Perry on the phone yesterday. He's doing fine. He has never vacationed at the Perry farm (Brookside) on Perry Rd. That place goes back in the family before his time (he's only 87).
