William Jurian Kaula diary
Somehow I had to satisfy my hankering for the Latin Quarter and my favorite haunts, so I journeyed down in search of nothing in particular and finally landed in Wallace's studio. Girard shared the studio with him during the winter and the poor fellow still lives but is very feeble in a sanitarium some distance from Paris. He is alone but receives good care.
I took a bicycle ride with H. yesterday to Ville d'Avery. This little town lies back of the park of St. Cloud. I have mentioned the extensive views of Paris from the hills of St. Cloud.* Hazard found Ville d'Avery a beautiful place last spring but I was not impressed by the scenery after coming in fresh from better country. This where Corot lived at one time and I recognized several spots that figure in some of his paintings. On the borders of some ponds is a monument and fountain to Corot.
Note: "Wallace" may be James Wallace (1872-1911), an oil painter.

Carol Scollan’s Lecture August 18, 2022
So grateful to Michelle and the library trustees for allowing the Historical Society to use the space to host Carol Scollan’s lecture on artists William Kaula and Lee Lufkin. Photos by Michelle Vestgard.
The presentation was wonderful! Thanks to all.
Is this family how Perry Road got it's name, I assume?
