James Roger diary entry
10th (Tuesday)
Fine morning and afternoon, but wind changed to east in afternoon and drizzly rain and mist closed in the afternoon. David on roads down town. Got p.c. from Hamish written as he was nearing Worcester about 1125 pm last night, he had a great send off from Mr. Scripture and his fellow employees at Ayer, very gratifying to him and us. I brought in vases &c from the cemetery and Mother and I shifted some roses, covered dahlias and other odd chores.

I attended an open hearth cooking demonstration at the Phoenix Mill House in Peterborough, NH. It was informative and delicious. I assume the same techniques were used in New Ipswich back in the day.

Emma Perry was Chauncey's great grandmother. She's buried in New Ipswich.
The answer is yes. My sister and I jumped off that bridge many times. Chauncey and Helen Perry were friends and neighbors who had a 1750 house on River Rd. Their father was a professor of electrical engineering at MIT. Chauncey was (is) also an electrical engineer and lives in Waltham, I'll ask him if he's related to Emma.
