Several of the the glass negative plates in the Society’s photo collection feature factory machinery. Our assumption is that they were taken in one of our mills early in the 20th century.
A Correction
I must have had Cape Cod on my mind yesterday. The rock featured is High Rock. Doane Rock is located in Eastham in Cape Cod. In my defense, I am battling a nasty cold which makes me think of warmer places.

25th (Wednesday)
Dull drizzly day, misty wind east but mild. David choring around in forenoon and helped Royce finish the sidewalk and helping Dell Hudson in afternoon. I went to Greenville paid Prescott got haircut. Got pump fixing at Farrar and took parcel for May to Express Office. Got p.c. from Hamish.
Whenever one sees a rounded boulder like this one it indicates that water flowed over it for a million yrs or more. Where is the museum that houses these machines?
