New bridge for Smithville at the end of Goen Road. Workmen move concrete forms into place.
The first bridge was made of wood and the story is that dynamite was used to remove it. It was replaced with a metal culvert which rusted out and was replaced with the current concreted structure in 2010. A similar metal culvert is located on at the end of Taylor Road which has also failed. If anyone can verify the dynamite story please leave a comment.
This is a bridge over the West Branch of the Souhegan.
Does anyone know what the tall structure in front of the flagpole is?
