6th September 1912
Fair and warmer; wind northerly. David sign painting in the Attic. I helped mother with grapes, making ready for jelly. Also cleared away apples from John Preston’s lawn and raked in front of his house; fixed Church for Musical recital. Got postcard and paper from Roslin. At the Dance tonight Mrs. McKown was presented with 50 dollars in 5 ten dollar gold pieces.
Wonder what those gold pieces would be worth today.
