Frost in early morning. Fine clear cool clear day, wind W. David at Club House. I went to Greenville for coop and grain in morning with Margt and Elizabeth, then went at 2 train to meet Hamish who had been at Nashua getting his nose fixed again.

If these veracious pages are to be an epitome of my daily life I am afraid that I should be obliged to make note of many unpleasant incidents. I have enumerated many in the past and often times without much reflection. I am not so much of a hypochrondriac [sic] (is that the right word?) as Hazard and it would have been much better for him if he came back to Crécy where the two young ladies, who are excellent nurses and could console and comfort him during the various states of depression. Hazard has gone to Switzerland.
