31st (Thursday)
Rain during night. Thawing, then freezing at night. David choring round got horse sharpened and plastering rat holes at Spofford's. Got pc from Hamish who has found his grip. I fixed up Hall for Dance tonight. The concert &c last night was very good quite a mob of people there, some from Rindge.

Who is the young man with the sparkler? I'm guessing it's John Poltrack when he was 60.
Mr Hardy looks more like 80. I find the men's clothing interesting. Also the chair Hardy is sitting in, that required 2 men to carry it out from the house.
