New Ipswich
Harriette M. Taylor died Sunday, Nov. 26, after several weeks of sickness. She was born in Smith Village, 1844, daughter of Charles and Harriet Taylor. She taught school for many years in New Ipswich and Wilton. For the past thirty or more years she has lived in the old home, caring for her father in his declining years, and since his death, has made the place her own home. She has always been prominently connected with the Congregational church, uniting forty-five years ago, when Rev. Samuel Lee was pastor. She served as clerk and treasurer more than thirty years, and until she died. She was especially interested and active in the Annual Children's Fair, handling its financial matters and has been largely instrumental in keeping this unique organization going. She was very loyal to her friends and will be greatly missed in the church and the community. The deceased is survived by a brother, Myron Taylor of Arlington, Mass., and a sister, Mrs. Emma Hardison of Wellesley Hills, Mass. Rev. Berkley officiated at the funeral. The bearers were Ralph Taylor, Philip Taylor, Daniel Maynard and Archie Eagleston. The interment was in the South cemetery.

James Roger diary entry
6th March 1913
Frost, fine morning, wind southeast to northwest. Snow commenced about 11 o’clock; about 4 inches fell. David went to Greenville for coal in forenoon and sawing up old wood in afternoon. I fixed vestry for Sewing Circle.
Let’s hear it for Harriet Taylor, educator, champion of the Children’s Fair, and cyclist.
Hariette is another resident who did a lot for New Ipswich. The Taylor house is one my favorite houses as well as Taylor Rd.
