One room schoolhouse at Highbridge
This school was located directly across the street from Warwick Mills. I’m not sure what number it was. New Ipswich had a number of one room schools throughout town.

James Roger diary entry
27th (Friday)
Slight front. Fine day, but cloudy. Wind changeable. Muggy and warm. David at Lonie’s in forenoon and choring around after fixing drain at door. Hamish keeping better. John Fowler & A. Robbins brought eggs last night. Academy closed today for two weeks.
Notes:
Lonie was Leon R. Willard, the town photographer.
My mother attended this school in the 20s and early 30s with 3 Vincent girls. In the 1940s Rita Vincent lived there with her father Ray who owned it in the 40s. The other 2 Vincent girls married and shared a house on the road in front of Warwick Mills right front in of the dam. Ray had a brother who had a chicken farm on Highbridge Hill. I think the other 2 Vincent girls were Ray's nieces.
