Death of Jesse Spofford
Jesse Spofford, a resident of this town the greater part of his life, died Thursday night at the Evans Memo- rial hospital, Boston, where he recently underwent an operation. He was 78 years old and a native of Temple.
About three years ago, Mr. Spofford went to the Masonic home in Manchester, N. H., where he had since resided.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 3.30 o'clock from the Goodwin funeral home, 607 Chestnut street, Manchester, N. H. Burial will be in the family lot at Temple, N. H., Monday morning with a committal service in the charge of the officers of Bethel lodge, A. F. and A. M., of New Ipswich, of which Mr. Spofford was a member for many years.
His only survivor is a niece, Mrs. Mary Lougee Bryant of Wakefield, Mass.

We would like to invite all Veterans to march in the parade to remember our fallen brothers and sisters. As well as people to come and watch those who march. We will have a float for any Veterans who are unable to march.
There are two parades and two cemetery ceremonies being hosted on May 19th.
Morning Parade: meets at 9:00am at 19 Goen Rd, stepping off to South Cemetery at 9:30.
Afternoon Parade: meets at 12:30pm at the New Ipswich Congregational Church, stepping off to Central Cemetery then continues on to Soldiers Monument at 1:00pm.
Anyone coming to view the parade in the morning can stand along Page Hill Rd or Binney Hill Rd and in the afternoon along Main Street.

Cool with high west wind; cloudy like to be showers. David with Lonie and his man painting Jim Davis’ house. Franck Hirck (Hyck?) finished John’s lawn, etc. at noon and cut lots for me in the cemetery in the afternoon. Got letter from Hamish from Buffalo. Mother had pretty good night and comfortable, only slightly constipated, which worries her. Lena Preston called today.
