James Roger diary entry
17th April 1913
Fair with cool northwest wind. Dave & W. Hardy after brown tail moths today. Dave is going to a surprise party at Henry Royce's tonight. I fixed up brooders for hatch, which is coming off today, and looks good. Mother feeling better tonight than she has done for some time. Got p.c. (postcard) from Hamish last night.
John was president of the New Ipswich Savings Bank. I think he might have been the grandfather of the John Preston who was moderator of the town meetings I attended in the 50s.
