Death of Joseph Silver.
Joseph Silver died at his home November 10 at the age of 73 years. He had lived in New Ipswich for 60 years.
Mr. Silver was selectman for six years and chief of the fire department and road agent for many years. He was the proprietor of a store here for 12 years, and afterward entered the hotel business with which he was connected for 36 years. He retired ten years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Abby R. Silver, two son, George C. of this town and Joseph C. of Verona, New Jersey, four grand children, and a niece, Eva A. Willard, who has lived with them 31 years.
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church November 12, at 2 o'clock. Rev. Edward T. Clapp officiated. The bearers were George Damon of Fitchburg, Ishame E. Aldrich, Walter E. Hardy, William E. Preston, Robert B. Walker and Albro L. Balch of this town. Burial was in the Village cemetery.
Relatives and friends were present from Beverly, Worcester, Lunenburg, Leominster, Somerville, Athol and Lexington, Mass.

Unmounted pictures, some tinted, taken by Mr. Charles A. Plumer. Presented to the Historical Society by Mrs. Melinda R. Kendrew, James Anderson House, Williamsburg, Virginia, 1961. Mrs. Plumer was Sally Rockwood Plumer, Great-Aunt of Mrs. Kendrew.
Typed information was found on the back of the pictures in Mr. Plumer's handwriting. Pictures mounted in two books to preserve them by Hazel E. Balch.
