Obituary
Joseph Webber, the veteran tailor, so long identified with the business interests of this town, died, last Saturday, after a brief illness, aged 83 years, 2 months and 2 days. It has been his custom for several years to spend the winters with his daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Hastings of Boston. Several weeks ago he arrived in town and opened his summer house as usual, awaiting the arrival of his daughter and granddaughter, who came last week Wednesday. On Friday his illness begun, resulting in his death the following day from organic disease of the heart, with which he had suffered for years. Mr. Webber was twice married. He was a kind and good man, honored by all. Seldom is a man seen so methodical in all his daily actions, and so little affected by the ravages of advanced years. One daughter survives him. The funeral was attended, Monday afternoon, at his late residence, by a large concourse, people who assembled to honor the aged man's memory. The interment was in the Central cemetery.
