Law Office (Wonder where this was)
WWII Veterans
Hazel Moore compiled an album of New Ipswich WWII veterans for the New Ipswich Historical Society. As a prelude to our town’s Memorial Day celebration, we will feature a few photos each day.

Cool morning but fine day. David at Lonie’s in forenoon, cutting brush after. Hamish on roads with Royce. Scripture telephoned for him to come to Ayer right away. Will go tomorrow morning brought forward. David and I helped Mr. Bucknan to carry Mr. Ramsdell’s corpse from tomb to grave at Grange last night. A letter was read by the secretary from George Jaquith resigning his office as lecturer. Letter laid on table till next meeting. I was lecturer for the night.

William Jurian Kaula diary- Monet Fête
24 April 1897 - Monet Fête
There will be a large fête in Moret tomorrow and the town is filling up with booths, merry-go-rounds, and house wagons. We will leave this afternoon for Paris and escape the celebration. I had a great thirst for reading after the day’s work was done and scoured the hotel for everything that was printed in English. Finally I exhausted what little there was and left a sermon on “the last days in the life of Christ” for the last.
I'm guessing this was on his property at the corner of Academy and Main. The church can be seen behind the trees and the street to Appleton Academy straight ahead.
In the 1950s I remember John Preston moderating Town Meetings. I suspect that he was the son of the John Preston that is referred to here. The owner of the Waterloom beach in Bankvillage was a Preston. There was property on River Rd that was owned by John Preston. I assume the owner of the beach and John were related.
