7th (Thursday)
Hard frost 22 degrees, cold north wind. David choring round, and went to Greenville for a barrel of flour, and Hamish’s grip. Bernier brought coal to Church this afternoon and we paid him his paid coal account $1660. Got letter from Alice, also Mrs. Spofford’s bill for eggs supplied to her and cemetery work. Sewing Circle in Church this afternoon only four or five present.

The "Bernier" man mentioned could well be of the family that founded the Bernier Oil Company in Greenville. They were the major supplier of heating oil in the area when I was growing up in Greenville and continued into at least the 1970's or 80's.
My guess would be somewhere on Manley Rd. The coal bill of $1660 for the church is surprising. A man and his two horse team earned $4/day working for the town that same year.
