James Roger diary entry
13th June 1913
Cool morning, fair and warmer after. The saddest day in my life. Today I buried my dear wife Maggie. Mr. Lord conducted the service in the most appropriate manner, dwelling on her beautiful home life. Flowers were sent by the church, Grange, Mrs. Brooks, John Preston, Mrs. Knowlton, Mrs. Royce, and from Troy, besides our own wreath and a beautiful basket of pansies from Mrs. Lord. The day was bright and sunny as it was 46 years ago when we were married. The pallbearers where our own folks: David, Hamish, John Borland, and Berkley. They went away by afternoon train. Letters from Sandy and Jean and Mr. Wasson.
Thanks to everyone who recently placed flowers at her grave. She is glorified in heaven.
Sad. Losing one's partner in life has to be tough. Relationships with family and friends are what life is about.
