James Roger diary entry
14th April 1908 (Tuesday)
Hard frost. fine warm day. Wind W to SW. David went to the Depot with chair stock for Walker and brought grain for Shirland and groceries for Phelps. I took 49 chickens out incubator. David and James put in some wood and we took cover of Preston lot. Got a letter from Hamish who expects that he may be through at Ayer on Wednesday as Hayden was better and to be on duty on that date. Also a letter from Jarmie at Oakdale.

William Jurian Kaula diary entry (tales of an artist abroad)
Glover and Logan are not doing any work and are devoting their time and attention to another matter - the young ladies. It would be impossible for me to calculate how many miles these couples have walked since their arrival in Moret. Both cases look very serious and are very interesting to watch. Mr. Wyeth has been doing some deadly work with his new outfit of water-colors.
NOTE: The William Kaula diaries entries are being archived on our blog https://nihist.blogspot.com
However Facebook bots have blocked blogspot.com addresses and I don’t have the energy to convince them that it is not spam. The readers can decide for themselves.
We hike up to Mt Watatic most Fridays on the Wapack Trail from Binney Hill Road. Climbing in those heavy clothes would make the trip a lot more challanging.
