Gravestone Iconography
The Jaquith couple were the featured photo for the posting today. I did a search for additional photos and discovered a photo that I had taken at the Jaffrey Meetinghouse graveyard. The grave is that of Ebenezer Jaquith who may be a relative.
What intrigues me is the symbol of a hourglass laying on its side. Time has stopped for Ebenezer.
My Glass is run & so must yours
The Society could probably do an entire program on the symbols on gravestones. Urns, winged heads, willows, etc. Enjoy your life while you can.
