James Roger diary entry
30th April 1913
Cold, raw north wind, down to freezing point in the morning. David took barrel of flour to Mill and exchanged. Brought meal, etc. Went to Gordons’ in afternoon. Got letters from Jessie and Alice. Matti Macki out with the King Road drag over the roads round here. The Doctor thinks mother is getting on all right. She had a good night’s sleep and a fairly good day. Took a little nourishment but has the old disagreeable feeling in her bowels.
“…the old disagreeable feeling…” Poor Mother!
