Death of Mrs. Julia Nash
Mrs. Julia Frances Nash, who died Feb, 25 after a brief illness, was the daughter of George Lowe and Julia Chickering Lowe. She was born in New Ipswich Oct. 16, 1854.
In 1881 she was married to Dr. Horace Nash of Lancaster, where she lived until 1895.
After the death of Dr. Nash she returned here and took an active part in affairs. She was a charter member of the Parent-Teacher association and also secretary for many years. She joined the Red Cross, the Ladies' Benevolent circle, and the Historical society.
For 30 years she had charge of New Ipswich library, choosing new books and magazines, sending out books to suit all kinds of readers, and arranging books in much crowded shelves and racks.
The library was closed Saturday by order of the trustees in her memory. Funeral services were conducted
by Rev. Edward Clapp in the Congregational church Sunday afternoon. Out-of-town relatives who attended the services were Mrs. Arthur Chickering and Miss Louise Chickering of Lancaster, Miss M. B. Lowe of Concord, N. H., Miss Eva Comnock of New York city, Mrs. Thomas Walsh of Weymouth, George Conant and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Knowlton of Cambridge. Bearers were Robert Walker, Ed- ward R. Wheeler, David Roger, Wilmore Ashley, Walter Hardy and Walter Thayer. Burial was in the Central cemetery.
Mrs. Nash is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Abby Cumnock of Alta Vista, Va., and Miss Caroline Lowe of New Ipswich, and a niece, Miss Myrta B. Lowe of Concord, N. H.

Fair and warm; wind variable; cloudy afternoon. David at Spoffords’ in morning and at tennis court in the afternoon. I picked 2 broilers for Miss Laura Barr. Practice by children in church for Children's Day tomorrow. Got letter from Johnnie who got a prize of one dollar for spelling. David got a letter from Newcomb and one from Hamish.
