June 6, 1942
1942 Mrs. Laura L. (Blaisdell) Prichard, widow of Francis William Prichard, died in her 91st year, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lena F. Saiford, in West Chelmsford, Mass., early Tuesday.
For a long time Mrs. Prichard divided her time between her two daughters, Mrs. Effie Moore of Peterboro and Mrs. Lena Safford in West Chelmsford, but for the last few years she had lived in West Chelmsford. Mrs. Prichard suffered a severe attack of pneumonia but had recovered from it and only recently the writer received a beautiful letter from her in which she says "I love New Ipswich and I have a letter every week from Mrs. Lauriston Hardy. It adds much to my happiness."
Mrs. Prichard made many long visits with Mrs. Hardy who with her parents were old neighbors. Mrs. Prichard was a woman held in high esteem and beloved by all, always interested in New Ipswich life and that of Bank Village where her married life was spent and her children born. Her husband succeeded to the farm of his father, now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Packard, and you could almost say he died in his youth for he was only 48 and a man of a pleasant, genial personality, liked by everyone, and he held all the important offices in town at different times and his death "caused a frequent expression of the feeling that the town had lost that citizen whom it was hardest to spare." Mrs. Prichard is survived by her two daughters, two grandsons and two granddaughters, each holding an important position, each having made good. Funeral services will be held Thursday in West Chelmsford and burial in the family lot in New Ipswich cemetery.

Fair and warm wind W to NW. David at Ashburnham with chair stock for Mr. Walker. I cut and trimmed several lots in Cemetery. Got letter from Alice yesterday saying they were going by Fall River last night also from Hamish from Nashua saying part of the plug was removed from his nose and he was feeling better
Wonderful photo of blueberry pickers.
That spot in Bank Village looks like the old Preston property, later owned by the Packards. The stone wall in the background was along Old Country Rd.
