OLD RESIDENT DEAD AT NEW IPSWICH, N. H.
NEW IPSWICH, N. H., Jan. 30.-Mrs. Lyda Ann (Swazey) Obear, a retired school teacher, died here yesterday aged 98 years, 6 months and 21 days. Until relatively recently she retained a keen interest in current events. Mrs. Obear had a remarkable memory of early day history and of the participation of New Hampshire in the Civil war.

Lyda Ann Obear gravestone. Note that there is more information about her husband than about her which seems to be the custom for many of these stones.
James Roger diary entry
28th February 1913
Milder; wind west to south; ice coming of [off] the trees and roads very slushy. David at Wilburs in the forenoon assisting him by going out for the orders, etc. as Dixon is sick. Moses Balch had a comfortable night. I fixed fires in Church for meeting of Men’s Club tonight; got postcard from Hamish, who is well.
