James Roger diary entry
2nd May 1913
Cool morning, warm day, wind variable. Saw 3 swallows this morning and mother saw a golden robin. She had an indifferent night but feels better today and says she feels past the worst, only needs strength. Had a letter from Hamish today. David painting at Gordons’. There was some thunder about 5 p.m. I see a lot of shrubs in bloom round the meadow and fruit blossoms on pears and peaches. Picked a fowl today for Miss Fanny Barr (per order of Brown Bros).
Good work Carl. If I were closer I would give you a hand.
