Henry L. Wetherbee Obituary
Henry L. Wetherbee died at his home in Peterboro Wednesday, Jan. 23, after a long illness. The final cause of his death was a shock. He was born in Rindge, N. H., Dec. 28, 1865, the son of Joseph Sylvester and Laura Nutting Wetherbee, who moved from Rindge to New Ipswich in 1871. At first they resided in Smith Village, then moved to the Caleb Campbell farm, where Henry L. Wetherbee spent his boyhood days and attended the public schools. Later on he went to Peterboro and worked for his brother-in-law, Mr. Nutting, and for the Peterboro creamery 20 years. Then he went into the livery and garage business for himself and worked at this until his health failed.
He was married to Annie C. Joyce of Ashby, Jan. 29, 1891. A niece, Dorris Goodwin, lived with them from the time she was a small child until her marriage to L. Goodwin.
Mr. Wetherbee was an Odd Fellow and a member of the Wheelbarrow club. The funeral was held at the Unitarian church Saturday, Jan. 26. Rev. Arthur H. Winn, the pastor, officiated. The Odd Fellows attended in a body. Burial was in Pine Hill cemetery. Mr. Wetherbee is survived by his wife; a brother, Willis Wetherbee of Greenfield, Mass., two sisters, Mrs. Clara Snow of Troy, N. H., and Miss Hattie Wetherbee of Georgetown, Mass., and two nieces, Mrs. Dorris Goodwin and Miss Hazel Wetherbee.
