Mrs. Jane Foster Edwards Obituary

Mrs. Jane F. Edwards died May 16. She was born in Greenfield, N. H., Mar. 20, 1845. Her residence was in South Easton, Mass., until she was 18; then she came to this town and resided until she decided to locate in California. While on the Pacific coast, David Edwards and Miss Jane Foster were married and resided in several sections of the state, but principally at Nappa. Two children were born there, Chester E. and John. J. Edwards.
Her husband was a soldier in the Civil War, and died in California, where he was interred. Both of her sons now reside in Sterling, Ills., A few years after her husband's death, she came to this town and has made her home with her sister, Mrs. Hattie F. Farwell, who is the last survivor of the family.
The funeral arrangements have not been made as word from her sons is awaited. Mrs. Edwards was a kind and lovely lady and had a large number of friends.

26th November 1912 (Tuesday) - Oyster Supper
Fair and milder wind west. David took the boxes for Wesson & May to the depot for the noon train, bought alfalfa and bought teacups, also box from May with mincemeat. Him and Dan cut a tree at Jenny Fox’s in afternoon. I fixed hall for Grange tonight. Heard today that Tom Hooper was dead. Mr. Brooks the eggman sick with low fever. Good attendance at Grange. Oyster supper, closed at midnight.
Arthur Niskala, another classmate. He lived on Goen Rd.
