Death of Miss Susan Hayward.
Miss Susan Hayward of this town died Saturday morning at Benjamin Wilson's, East Jaffrey, N. H., where she had been stopping but a short time. The past winter she boarded at Orrin French's, and had continued her residence there until a short time ago.
She was a native of Chelmsford, Mass., and was born January 14, 1830. Her parents were Joseph and Fidelia (Reed) Hayward, whose immediate family consisted of Isaac, Ann, Emory, John, Mary, Susan and Charles. Her elementary education was secured at the white schoolhouse at the road to Wilder Village. She was the last representative of her family. She resided upwards of 45 years at her home in the southeast part of the town.
Her funeral took place Monday in East Jaffrey and the interment was in the Central Cemetery in the afternoon.

Cool and cloudy wind east snow began at noon, rain after no service at night. Thunder showers with hail from 10pm to 11pm. Mr. Lord preached from the text: “Art thou he etc. and the answer go show John.” The fruits of a Christian life. SS after collection 25 cts. Evening service in Baptist church.
