150th Anniversary
This broadside from the papers of George E. Barrett advertises the 150th anniversary of New Ipswich, NH in 1900. The anniversary was celebrated from August 26-29. Special church services were held, and other activities occurred throughout the week, such as a "Citizen's Parade" and music. Monday was devoted to "social visiting."

Thunderstorm about five a.m.; Nice rain in forenoon; wind variable. David at Store. I picked and dressed 4 chickens for Dan Brown. John Preston here to meet Farrar and Tuttle about timbering his pond and shingling part of his house. Preparatory lecture in Church. M. Proctor and Laura Knowlton to be admitted to the church on Sunday. Got letter from Hamish.
