My town
I live in New Ipswich and it means a lot to me because I like hanging out with my friends at the park. And I like the people that live here and I play basketball here.

October 6th 1908 (Tuesday)
Frost warm bright day. wind S. David at Ashburnham. I brought on the Gordon lot all day. Peacock and wife and Mrs. Corbett also Chas & Mrs. Wheeler sorting church for Fair tomorrow. Mrs. Sampson and a Miss Reed called today.
October 7th 2024 (Wednesday)
Frost fine warm day. Children’s fair a good turnout. I drew 860 at the door. David and Henry finished the Webber lot today. Ed Wheeler’s wife had a daughter this afternoon. Mrs. Parker taken to the hospital at Gardner. I was door keeper at the fair.
October 8th 1908 (Thursday)
Frosty fine cool day. Wind westerly. David at Preston cabin with Henry Royce fixing wall for breakwater. Mother and I cleaned up church vestry & c and I filled lamps in Hall and vestry and picked 2 roosters. At Grange tonight there were 19 present, 2 visitors. Rehearsal of 3rd degree short literary program. Closed 1115 pm.
October 9th 1908 (Friday)
Cloudy morning fine day. Wind W. to S.E. David and Henry Royce at John Preston’s cabin. I fixed the Davis lot and seeded it down and sowed grass on Marshall lot, and took some soil up to Gordon lot. Mrs. Lowe called today.
October 10th 1908 (Saturday)
Frost morning, dull cool day, wind S. to S.E. David at Preston’s cabin till 11 o’clock. Took sods and loam to Gordon lot in afternoon. I burned potato vines in forenoon and worked on Gordon’s lot in afternoon. Got letter from Roslin with pc also calendar from Alice, last night and letter today. David going to depot to meet Hamish tonight.
October 11th 1908 (Sunday)
Dull cool day. Church fire lit. Salvation Army folk preached morning and night also at Baptist church. No S.S. nor C.E. Hamish arrived last night Rain fell during night.
October 12th 1908 (Monday)
Dull and cool wind west to N.W. sunny during the day. David on roads down town. I finished the Gordon lot today. Hamish went with milkman in morning. There was report circulated today that Mr. John Crow of East Jaffrey had been shot by a Finn from (?) he was collecting an account (not true). Mrs. Parker very ill last night but better today. John Preston shutting off water and fixing up house for winter.



Mabel Livingston was a Town Treasure, just like many other worthy and industrious women who’ve served the community throughout the past.
The daughter that was born to Ed Wheeler's wife, Ida, was Mabel, born Oct. 7th, 1908. Mabel later went on to marry Leon Livingston and become the long time librarian at the New Ipswich Library
