The 161st Children’s Fair was held on August 20, 2022. Margie Brown sold ice coffee at the fair. In this photo she was organizing titles for the book sale. Today (Wednesday the 24th) is her birthday.

24th (Monday)
Fair and cool. David at Academy and Club. Hamish took Alice, Johnnie and Jessie Cochrane to Greenville for noon train en route to Hingham. Hamish went by 4:50. Walter Hardy went with the horses in afternoon to Depot with Walker’s wood stock and took Hamish & Alice’s trunk. Finns came and cleared Hall. Brought in the hay.
No. 2 schoolhouse looks like the one that was at the corner where Temple Road turns left and splits off from Greenville road. I remember it’s existence but can’t remember exactly when it was torn down, which was a shame.
Is James referring to a person named Finns or actual Finnish folks in the journal entries?
