Obituary - 1904 Suicide of Frank Wright
Suicide of Frank Wright.
Frank Wright of Squantum, Jaffrey, committed suicide with a shot gun, Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18, in Wilder Village, New Ipswich, just after a visit here. He was at George S. Wheeler's about noon for a short time, wishing to make a trade. When he left he walked away rapidly towards the Central Village. He appeared as usual, simply remarking that they never would see him again. He resided at Fred A. Cushing's a few winters ago, during the absence of Mr. Wheeler in Florida.
When he reached Wilder Village he went to Mr. Frederick's and borrowed a shot gun, claiming that he wished to shoot the largest owl that he had ever seen. The gun was at a neighbor's and he went in search of it. After obtaining the gun he started away. Later a person was getting up his cattle and found him dead with a shattered head. The deceased had a wife and two sons. He was about 50 years old and subject to mental aberrations. The selectmen were immediately informed by a special messenger and Fred A. Cushing started at once for the scene of the tragedy.
