Over which, from sea to sea, From Pilgrim's Rock to Alaska Floats the banner of the free. 'Tis the land our fathers fought for, The land for which they bled, And its fair fields have been watered With the patriot blood they shed. None brighter wakes in the sunshine, All alive with the arts of Peace; None fairer sleeps in the moonlight, When the hum of its toilers cease! 'Tis the land all the nations honor, And where e'er its flag is unfurled, Taking new heart of courage, Man again has hope for the world! God bless the land we live in! 157th Children’s Fair - It Rained
James Roger diary entry
17th August 1913
Warm day and muggy; wind easterly. Mr. Lord preached from Acts 17: 26—“God who has made of one blood, etc.” About 3 p.m. there was a severe wind, rain, and thunderstorm. 2 inches of water fell within the hour. Our Crawford peach tree was blown down and several trees around also much fruit. About 5 p.m. David was called away to an alarm of brush fire on Binnie [sic] Hill started by lightning striking a tree. No rain had fallen there. He came back about 7 p.m., the fire being under control when they got there. Very few at the evening service which closed at 7:30 p.m.
