13th (Thursday)
Fine morning wind west. David took Mr. Cochrane to Depot, and then went to Club. I cut some lots in morning and took my daughter Jessie to Depot at noon. Cut some lots in afternoon and brought cows in at 430 pm. Severe thunderstorms commenced about 6pm until 9pm. Mr. & Mrs. Hubbard Sr. & Junior with Mr. Foster as Chauffeur from Ashby took shelter in our house during the storm. Lawn party at Parsonage.

A letter from Hazard and a note from his doctor saying that he was ill and wanted my company for a few days. H. has planned a glorious ten day's trip through Switzerland but I am sure that he will not go.
Nice house. New Ipswich had many nice homes. I'm happy that many are still there,
