After Damsite 35 was built, Taylor Pond became known as Smithville Reservoir. The last picture shows a view that is exactly the same now as it was then.

William Jurian Kaula diary
Miss Lufkin has a beautiful studio on the Rue Boissonade which is but one block away from our studio on the Rue Campagne Premiére. The studio is a large one with a small apartment in connection which includes one room, a kitchen, and a store room. Miss Shuttleworth was living with Miss Lufkin previous to her departure for Rome. I know these young ladies so well that they both have been of great assistance to me in helping me to do my shopping, and besides doing a great amount of work in sewing sofa pillows and making lamp shades. Miss L. keeps house and has a woman to do the cooking and cleaning which is the best method of living in Paris if you have the money. When there are two students living together the cost is about the same or even less than living at restaurants. The advantage too, is in having just the kind of food one desires. Few of us enjoy living out in restaurants where we eat everything and with anybody. I have not refused any of the invitations to go out to dinner. Today finishes up my notes about Hazard. He has figured ingloriously throughout my first year. On Thursday I went to Perier Ulercet et Cie.
