1884 Walkers Mill Invoice
James Roger diary entry
January 25, 1909 (Monday)
Fine day but changeable fog and drizzle, but sledding keeps good. David teaming from mountain to chair shop. I filled boiler and turned over turnips in cellar.
Lovely old photos. Phil and Helen (Mother) look as though they were very happy and enjoyed family life together. Especially enjoy seeing photos of Helen (Daughter), who was our neighbor on Temple Road and always treated me with kindness.
The old stationery that has been being shown on the site in the form of receipts, etc., is of interesting and elegant design. People's fine handwriting in those days complemented that. Nowadays not so much...
Mr. Roger must have had a lot of turnips in his cellar to comment on it.
