William Jurian Kaula diary
Hazard has been writing anything but satisfactory letters of his condition in Switzerland - first one would say that he would go back home, the next would say that he would stay a little while longer. Yesterday I received another saying that he was on his way to Paris and would sail this week and would I be so kind as to pack his trunk and all his canvasses [sic] and meet him in Paris. He also telegraphed today to make me feel sure that this was in earnest. It was no small job to get all his things together and cart them to Paris. So I am now located in another pension at No. 3 Rue St. Didier near the Avenue Kleber in the vicinity of the Arc. He has a fondness for these American and English boarding houses. I found Hazard sitting on a seat in the Plac Etoile and listened to a long tale of his woes. He has worried himself into a still more unhappy state and has consulted some dozen or more physicians. One scared the wits out of him in Switzerland by telling him that he had a lesion in the brain - another in Paris said that something had snapped in his brain - some connecting nerve cells or something worse - something that would make him quite a pathological freak if it were true because you would never suspect it to look at him. As an invalid his appearance is so healthy that I do not feel alarmed when I see him - it is only when he writes about it. I want him to go home and was prepared to give him a "send off" but newer developments have come forth. His family physician in Brockton cabled today telling him that there was no danger of a relapse (he was ill three years ago with a similiar [sic] complaint) and for him to remain in Paris.

James Roger diary entry -
28th (Monday)
Warm and cloudy, threatening rain with slight sprinkles wind S. to S.E. David and I went to four corners for saw dust afterwards pulling apples. He went to Greenville for grain, laundry and peppers to make Piccadilly. Mr. Foster of Ashby passed in his auto and left us a parcel of apples a return for our hospitality during a thunderstorm in August. We sent a box of tomatoes and some peaches to May. Finns engages Hall for Saturday night. Mrs. Preston went per coach for her holiday.

Research for Scholars
The University of New Hampshire has digitized Town Reports from New Hampshire towns including New Ipswich. These reports are invaluable for researchers because they list births, deaths, marriage dates (with maiden names of brides) and other nuggets of information. Thank you Bill Niemi for this information.
Looks like Ollie Niemi eyeing the lobster bisque. He most likely had his GTO at this event.
