The Eyrie
This photo was among the glass negatives in the New Ipswich Historical Society . We have a note that it was owned by Otto Weisman. I wonder if it still standing and where it might be located. How did it get that name? So many questions.

James Roger diary entry
7th (Saturday)
Dull morning and cloudy day – wind westerly. David did not go out but cleaned harness. Got letter from Hamish last night and P.C. today which he sent from Portland. Mr. Stearns called today threatening proceedings by law against us in reference to the hen coops bought from C Weler (?)
Notes:
David: James’s son and bachelor jack of all trades in N.I. Lived with James. Remained in town into the 1940’s.
Hamish: probably a nephew. (Because his given name was also James, three James’s in the household might be confusing, thus the Scottish nickname ‘Hamish’)
