Where was the mill?
The Waterloom Mill is long gone. The bricks are probably spread out throughout town built into chimneys and patios. Where was it?
This photo was taken of Water Loom pond. The bridge is on Old Country Road which intersects wih River Road in New Ipswich, NH. Behind the bridge the chimney and mill are visible.
The view from the hill
This is a view of the mill from the hill looking down at the Souhegan River. Since this photo was scanned from a glass plate there is a slight chance that it is backwards. If you recognize anything out of order please leave a comment.
The Penstock
This is a rear view of the mill. The windows have already been removed. What is notable in this photo is the penstock which carried water to the turbine for the mill.
Waterloom Mill is Falling Down
Undated photo of the mill. Nothing remains of this huge building.

James Roger diary entry
20th March 1912
Cool day; rain during the night; wind variable, going round north. David about Spoffords’ with Farrar and Mr. Newcomb, who are coming on 15th May. Tested our incubator tonight; found only 2 infertile eggs out the hundred.
Spofford is a name in our family tree, along with other names familiar to New Ipswich residents, such as Barrett, Thayer, Gibson, Davis.
