James Roger diary entry
7th March 1913
Hard frost, zero, a bitter cold wind all night, the coldest I have felt all winter. Wind west and cold day, 4 above at 6 PM. David and Daniel fixing windows in brooder house in forenoon and went to depot after a stove for Daniel's farm. David picked a fowl in the forenoon for the Lowes, and I picked one in the afternoon for Mrs. Parker. Got letter from May, and Berkley has the mumps.
Even though these clips and obits were depicting NI well before my time I enjoy reading them. He was another example of a devoted resident of NI. Active in town affairs as a selectman, sexton, and town committees. He was a summer resident in NI and went south to Framingham, Mass in the winter.
