I've walked this damsite many times. Was the Paris wallpaper in the Inn in New Ipswich? I knew a Charles Willard from Temple. Was he a relative of Loren?

Appleton Inn was at the end of Main Street as it intersects with Turnpike Road. It is now called Appleton Manor. The porch was removed and other changes made. The Paris wallpaper decorated the inside as indicated on the postcard photo. Leonard R. Willard lived on Willard Road, He took many of the photographs that are in the society's collection. He also was a painter and raised chickens. He was friends with James Roger whose diary is posted daily. James calls him "Lonie". Not sure about the connection with Temple. The Model T was his.

Thanks for that info. In the 1950s I would walk to Willard Rd through the woods from my parents' home on River Rd. Never connected it to Leonard Willard.
