Now all day N.E. to N wind. Kind of sleet and rain in evening. No Church only Mr. Peacock & Ethel Knowlton no C.E. Hamish telephoned from Ayer at 910 pm he had just arrived from Boston.
Interesting photos. How did Walter get to the other side? They're hiking in what I would call formal clothing. Where and who was the photographer? It's 1898, they must have traveled via horse & buggy or train. I live in upstate NY and Canandaigua would be quite a trip from New Ipswich. The Nashua Telegraph mentions 'Barnes Falls' in some 1890 editions in Wilton.
