I wonder why Mrs. Walter Hardy (Clarinda Ferrin of Lawrence , Mass) would donate a picture of the Bullard camp to NIHS. And why Leon Willard took a photo of it. I assume it's not the Bullard camp in Vt . I never heard the name Bullard mentioned in my time in New Ipswich. I would look at the tax rolls of New Ipswich in the 30s to see if there is such a property.
And poor Hamish with his skin! How old was he? A teenager?
Wonderful account from Hilma. Her father was multi-talented and a guardian of his family. People didn't ask for much then but they gave everything.

Located in Bank Village near the "whirlpool" the bridge to the property crosses the Souhegan but is posted.
Interesting since I lived near the 'whirlpool'. My brother's body was recovered at that bridge. We assumed he fell off the bridge. He was age 10.
What a terrible thing to lose a sibling.
Yeah, he was 15 yrs younger and I carry some guilt for not teaching him how to swim.
