Timothy Perry not only was a poet but also a well-known lawyer in Brooklyn with his older brother Chauncy who was the grandfather of my friend Chauncy Perry who was the younger brother of Helen Perry. He attended Appleton and later was principal before becoming a lawyer and joining his brother's firm in Brooklyn.
Not sure, it says the Literary exercise was held at the Congregational Church on the hill. The poster says the reception was at the Academy Hall. I know the Baptist Church had that big addition done with the steps and basement, don't know the date of that.
Was the photo taken at what was then the Baptist Church?
No that was the original Congregational church locate at intersection of Main Street and Willard Road. The new church was built on the same place.
