George Lougee House
James Roger diary entry
24th March 1913
Fine springlike day but windy with sprinkle about 5 p.m. and rainbow. David pruning trees about Gordons’ in forenoon and in attic part of afternoon, then splitting wood. I sawed old wood in the brooder house. The mail was late today again owing to the state of the roads.
Nice old house, the Lougee place. Like that barn. Would have been good to know who his surviving widow was.
And perhaps James Roger is referring to mud season when he writes of the state of the roads?
The George Lougee was the father of Charles. The place looks like it could have been located at the intersection of Ashby Rd and Davis Village Rd. I think the mountain in the background is Kidder Mt.
