I wonder if he meant a homemade binder to wrap around his lower abdomen to relieve back or intestinal pain from hernia or something. He’d not been feeling well for a while. And he worked like a fiend hauling wood, etc., so he might have strained something.

Marion married E. Lawrence Davis on Thanksgiving Day 1947. The Fitchburg Sentinel mentions she also became a world champion in woodchopping.

In 1936, at age 42 Marion Buck became the champion woodchopper in the state! I can find no evidence that she married but somehow she became Marion Davis.

On March 29,1917 Marion Buck starred in a play called "Just Like a Woman" at Mechanics Hall.
